The Oselu canyon was formed by the valley with the same name, which has its sources in an outcrop located at the base of the cliff in Piatra Ciungilor. Before the canyon sector, the valley forms the Oselu Gorge. They have a living aspect, the vegetation covering the walls of the valley. The gorge sector together with the canyon sector have a length of 1.5 km.
Traversing the Oselu canyon requires technical knowledge of rope descent and equipment used for traversing canyons. Since the water catchment area of the Oselu Canyon is not very large, the water flow is relatively small. During the months of April-May, the water flow is higher, making the journey more interesting. Between June and October, the canyon can still be traversed, only that the water flow is very low.
