How better to feel the mountain than by climbing it, using your own limbs to "tame" the rock and climb higher and higher, while the support equipment gives you all the safety you need? Located in the Apuseni Natural Park, the Vartop via ferrata route is not difficult from a technical point of view, but that does not make it any less thrilling.

A gift with a mountain scent: Via ferrata in Apuseni Vartop

The route begins with a short horizontal section, which changes direction after a few meters in a vertical passage. The metal parts mounted in the rock allow a comfortable advance both vertically and horizontally. After two more climbs, you reach above the crown of the forest, from where you can already see the road going up to Vartop.

Although the participants are on a vertical wall, thanks to the metal parts there is no need for climbing skills, the via ferrata passages being thus accessible to almost anyone.

After a 4-meter climb, you reach a ridge with a width of approximately 60 cm, from where participants can admire the Piatra Graitoare Peak and the Bihorului Peak, the highest peak in the Apuseni Mountains. The via ferrata route continues on this ridge for approximately another 100m. From here you can see the entire rocky amphitheater of the Black Stones. The route ends at a belvedere point, from where you can admire the entire ridge.
