Advanced photography course

The school provides students with course support in electronic format, bibliography, video presentations. At the end of the in-depth photography course , after passing the theoretical grid test exam and presenting the portfolio, the qualification diploma will be issued for the "Photographer" competence group, according to COR code 343101. After graduation, all students will be able to participate in all outings for photographic practice, organized by the school, free of charge!

The photography courses are held by Adrian Nasturica - professional photographer (member of the New York Institute of Photography, id. no. 179450) and ANC authorized trainer, and the processing and post-processing courses by Andi Vasilache - image editor.

Syllabus of the in-depth photography course:

• Introduction to photography: digital photography and the choice of photographic equipment

• Diaphragm

• Exposure time

• ISO

• Camera metering systems for determining correct exposure

• Aperture correspondence, exposure time, ISO, camera setting

• Types of objectives and the importance of each one in taking a photo, focal length

• Focusing system (manual and automatic)

• Photography in ambient light Photography in artificial light

• Using the flash

• Colors: color temperature, basic colors, complementary colors, color circle and color association in photographic composition, symbolic colors, abstract colors, color and black and white photography

• The photographic view: the photographic frame, the use of the foreground, the use of the background, the station point

• Composition: strengths, creating dynamics in photography, the meaning of strengths, exceptions in making a composition

• Static and dynamic balance in the composition

• Chromatic balance

• Elements of visual perception

• Gestalt principles

• Dynamics of the visual center: Elements of symbolism in photographic art and their meanings; The use of patterns, textures, shapes in photographic composition; Using photo filters

• Travel photography

• Landscape photography: choosing the station point, composition in landscape photography, urban landscape, nature, watercourses, sky

• Reportage photo

• Photography in the studio: principles, types of lights used (main, modeling, contour, background, etc.) setting lights in a studio, measuring light in the studio, exposure meter, continuous light and studio flashes, types of equipment used in studio photography

• Portrait photography: elements of portraiture, composition in portrait photography, facial models and the choice of the station point

• High key photography: basic principles of composition lighting techniques

• Low key photography: basic principles of lighting techniques composition 3D photography

Photo processing and post-processing

• Knowing the limits of the camera and how to shoot for later editing

• RAW and DNG format

Adobe Lightroom Classic CC:

• Interface setting and optimizations for increased speed

• Organization of Catalog files, Folders, Collections and Collection sets

• Viewing and sorting/rating

• Keywords for tag sorting and search

• Importing photos

• Develop menu

• Global adjustments (tonal, color, sharp, noise reduction, lens and perspective corrections)

• Local adjustments (graduated filter, radial filter, brush)

• Range mask Color and Luminosity

Advanced photography course - structure:

• lasts 12 months

• theoretical classes take place once a week (from 19:00 to 21:00)

• practical classes take place once every two weeks (Sunday from 14:00 to 15:30)

Each theoretical chapter taught in the photography course will be accompanied by the practical exercise of the notions, being completed by sessions in which the photographs will be commented on from a technical and aesthetic point of view. The school has a studio equipped to professional standards where the courses will be held and the techniques taught in the course can be practiced.

The notions of technique and photographic art are not only presented in photography courses, but are explained and argued, so as to allow those who acquire them, to use them creatively.
