What is clay pigeon shooting and how does it work
Clay pigeon shooting is an outdoor Olympic shooting discipline in which the participant uses a 12-gauge sporting shotgun and shot cartridges to break clay discs (pigeons) launched into the air by a mechanical thrower. Each sequence of 25 clays constitutes a round. The activity takes place under the constant supervision of a qualified instructor, who provides the initial briefing and remains on hand throughout the entire session.
Trap vs. Skeet – what's the difference
Both are Olympic disciplines, but they differ in the trajectory of the clays and the layout of the shooting stand. The choice between Trap and Skeet is made by the voucher holder, directly at the range, based on personal preference or the instructor's recommendation.
Trap – the classic Olympic shooting discipline
The Trap shooting stand has five stations, which the shooter rotates through during a round of 25 clays. All clays are launched from a sunken house in front of the stand, flying at varying angles, elevations, and speeds — making every shot a unique challenge. A 12-gauge sporting shotgun and FIOCCHI 24 g shot cartridges are used.
Skeet – precision on fixed trajectories
In Skeet, clays are thrown at fixed speeds and trajectories from two towers of different heights, positioned at either end of a semicircle with 7 shooting stations plus a central post. The shooter moves through all stations and fires at 25 clays per round. The predictability of the trajectory makes Skeet accessible for beginners, yet highly technical for advanced shooters.

Is prior experience required for clay pigeon shooting?

It's one of the most appreciated gifts for active, curious, or sports-loving individuals — whether or not they have any prior experience with firearms. The voucher is valid for 6 months, can be given for any occasion (birthday, Christmas, anniversary), and gives the recipient the freedom to choose their own date and preferred discipline.
